This is København, a bitmapped Norse runic font designed to make printing late Scandinavian runic writing easier. I will soon make available rúniskr, a keyboard layout designed specifically for the runic alphabet laid out so that a simple case switch can transliterate the text.
It is based on a PD font called Corvallis, but the character set has been altered so that the capitals are replaced with runic characters. (By the way, you really do need either SimpleText or a word processor for this document; it will look wrong in TeachText.)

Uses:
-Runes always make for interesting illustration possibilities. In addition, these actually mean something, so you could concievably teach it to your kids in order to give them something no one is sure they can read. I liked spy stuff myself as a kid...
-There's also a legitimate use. It is fairly good for basic Germanic writing, for linguistic writing or similar pursuits.
A short example of modern English in runic writing, according to the early spelling conventions:
QIS IS REYCJAVIC, A BITMAPPED FONT FOR QE MACINTOSC. IT IS DESIGNED TO BE A MORE SUITABLE FONT FOR SERIOUS LINGUISTIC USE THAN THE RUNIC FONTS DESIGNED IN QE SPIRIT OF THE NOFELS BY J.R.R. TOLKIEN, MOST OF HFIK LACC ANY KIND OF SERIOUS ORDER (AT LEAST QE ONES I'VE SEEN DO).

If you can, send bug reports to my email address. There will be a few others soon to be available, hopefully including an Old Church Slavonic font, both a couple of excessively hard-to-find scripts. The bitmaps will be shareware. The outline ones, hopefully, won't. I don't like having to pay shareware fees much, but I understand the mentality, so help me a bit here...
